Network Operations Support Engineer

Your role in helping us shape the future:
Provide Level 2 engineering, operations and maintenance support for the Intelsat General Secure Operations Center. This position is responsible for the technical expertise for the timely resolution of customer's service issues in VSAT platforms to support the 24x7 NOC. The Network Operations Support Engineer is required to understand customer service design, SLA and customer expectations. This role is also responsible for taking into account redundancy, availability, scalability, security, restoral options and customer impact when resolving customer issues.

Utilize tools and demonstrate a high level of proficiency to assess and troubleshoot iDirect Technologies to include Infiniti, Evolution, and Velocity platforms.as well as IP and RF issues while working closely with customers to maintain all service level agreements.
Provide implementation support for programs, including equipment integration support and resolution of technical issues associated with implementation of new services.
Interface and coordinate with customers, vendors, program managers and Engineering, taking charge of acceptance testing and troubleshooting.
Provide escalation support for services needing in-depth troubleshooting assistance, including review and guidance support on interference tickets.
Provide back up support of the ISOC intranet infrastructure, including both LAN and WAN components consisting of Cisco, Juniper devices, and servers and network monitoring devices.
Interface with internal and external technical support groups to resolve service-affecting anomalies.
Maintain monitor and control systems in the ISOC and any future monitoring systems that are required with new programs.
Provide training to ISOC and MSSC staff.
Provide escalation support for ISOC and MSSC trouble tickets.
Provide key input and/or lead in the development of operational support of data and documentation pertaining to new or existing infrastructure, platforms or services, development of training materials, processes, procedures, skills assessments.
Provide leadership of System support, Change Management and Quality oversight.
Provide on-call support to the ISOC/MSSC regarding customer impacting or other service, network and tool related issues.

Support the Network Operations process of continuously optimizing performance, stability and capacity for IntelsatOne and Flex networks and services.
Represent the department at all times, as a technical SME.
Create and continually develop standardized service documentation procedures.
Lead the activation and deactivation of customer managed services.
Lead the development and support of vendor and customer relationships in order to provide feedback on current or future service requirements.
You should definitely have:
Must have a Bachelors' degree and 3 years of relevant experience in a network operations support engineering role. Consideration will be given to candidates who possess appropriate experience in lieu of the stated educational and experience combination requirement.
Must have in-depth knowledge of networking, data communications and systems engineering, with additional understanding of and experience in multi-service IP networks, data network strategies, multi- vendor equipment and network protocols.
Must have in-depth knowledge of and experience with Industry best practices for network engineering and operations, creating robust service implementation strategies and operating network infrastructure for a Service Provider Network.
Must have demonstrated expertise with satellite communications systems (C Band/Ku band), as well as IF, L-Band and RF system block diagrams.
Must have direct experience with iDirect Technologies to include Infiniti, Evolution, and Velocity platforms.
Must have proven experience in a customer service environment and ability to act as a customer advocate to resolve complex service issues.
Extensive experience with network professionals and developing inter-organizational relationships required.
Must already possess or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level.

CompTIA certifications preferred, including A+, Network+, and Security+
Cisco certifications preferred, including CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
